4MW ultra-fast frequency regulation

The system realized by EPS is enabled with the proprietary DROOP Virtual Inertia to react in less than 125μs (micro-seconds), and to stabilize a drop in frequency in less than 20ms (milliseconds).
Such a fast reaction, with a frequency stabilisation in less than 20ms, is particularly important in today’s frequency regulation process, where the rotating masses of conventional power plants, which are synchronized with the grid frequency, react automatically to frequency deviations
by reducing the gradient of the frequency deviations within the rst milliseconds to seconds of a frequency dip.
